Creating Success through Trust

For: Leaders and managers from all levels and disciplines.
Purpose: Participants will work in a series of interactive tasks to discover the real leader inside. Time will be spent in defining a personal leadership philosophy then finding ways to apply these in the work environment to facilitate immediate change.
Group Size: 8-12 (maximum 12).

Dr. Don Hutson: Biography

Educator, businessman, orchestral conductor and horse trainer, Dr. Don Hutson has discovered that many of the same principles used to train horses can have an extraordinary impact when applied to teaching. Thousands of corporate leaders and educators in Texas, Colorado and Canada have attended Don's Cowboy Solution clinics and are adapting his methods with great success. Many have reported that not only are they getting better results in their areas of expertise, but they are also gaining renewed rewards and personal satisfaction from their professions.

The Cowboy Solution, founded by Dr. Hutson, provides equine assisted educational and corporate leadership training programs to help promote professional development. More than 10,000 professionals from all walks of life have attended a Cowboy Solution program. And, based on feedback, participants are walking away and putting into action a set of very specific tools, equipping them for success in the workplace.

Hutson holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Oklahoma with 12 years of teaching experience at both the high school and college levels, including posts at the University of Oklahoma, Phillips University and the University of Southwest Louisiana. He also owned and operated a textile manufacturing business for 16 years. It is this culmination of experiences from upon which he draws, plus 40 years working with horses, to share his unique perspective on leadership training. This includes the importance of building trusting partnerships; using clear, concise and consistent communications; and keeping expectations high.

Working in the arena with horses of varying training levels and abilities, Dr. Hutson encourages participants to re-examine their own philosophies and to re-think their approach to training, teaching, and leadership.

In addition to his Cowboy Solution seminars, he enjoys training horses and working with riders of all ages. He also serves as music director and conductor of the Conroe Symphony Orchestra.
